The Expert Software Architect leads the design of complex, high-impact software systems, creating scalable, secure architectures that align with business strategy and technology roadmaps. This role shapes architectural decisions across multiple teams and systems, ensuring technical consistency and long-term platform sustainability.
Serving as a senior technical authority, the Expert Software Architect drives the adoption of proven architectural patterns, evaluates emerging technologies, and provides deep technical guidance for mission-critical platforms within the insurance and wealth management domain.
This role combines deep technical expertise with enterprise‑level architectural influence, leading initiatives such as SaaS transformation, cloud modernisation, AI enablement, and cost‑of‑ownership optimisation. The Expert Software Architect translates business strategy into actionable architectural frameworks, guiding teams through complex design decisions and trade‑offs across performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and compliance.

Product & Platform Initiatives:
SaaS Transformation: Lead the transition from on‑premise and hybrid solutions to scalable SaaS platforms, defining tenancy models, deployment strategies, and operational standards.
Cloud Modernisation (AWS): Architect and govern AWS migrations using native services (e.g., serverless, managed databases, API Gateway), optimising for performance, security, and cost.
AI Enablement: Drive the responsible adoption of AI and GenAI across the SDLC, including development acceleration, testing, and automation, while ensuring strong governance and quality standards. Take technical ownership of AI-driven product enhancements.
Cost Optimisation: Reduce total cost of ownership through architectural decisions including right‑sizing, service selection, automation, and platform standardisation.
Architecture & Governance Processes:
Architecture Governance: Lead and contribute to architecture forums to assess change impact, manage risk, and ensure alignment with enterprise strategy.
Technical Design Authority (TDA): Act as a design authority for complex initiatives, reviewing and approving architectures, patterns, and non-functional requirements.
Security & Compliance: Embed security and regulatory requirements into architecture and delivery through a consistent “secure-by-design” approach.
Pre-Sales Enablement: Support RFI/RFP responses and Proofs of Concept with scalable, secure, and credible architectural solutions.
Technical Background & Expertise:
Core Engineering: Strong experience in .NET (C#), SQL, MVC, and API development (REST/SOAP), with a focus on building maintainable, testable systems.
AI-Assisted Engineering: Practical application of GenAI to enhance development efficiency while maintaining governance, security, and quality.
API & Integration: Expertise in headless APIs, event-driven architectures, and secure system integration across distributed environments.
Cloud & DevOps: AWS architecture and CI/CD automation (e.g., GitHub Actions), with emphasis on deployment efficiency and reliability.
Security Engineering: Applied knowledge of OWASP, OAuth2, MFA, and secure identity patterns, embedded within end-to-end system design.
Quality & Assurance: Experience with unit testing and security testing practices (SAST, DAST, SCA, penetration testing) to ensure robust and secure delivery.
