Responsibilities

This is an office-based position.

 

The Experienced Actuarial Developer is responsible for the development and implementation of standard or moderately complex actuarial models and software solutions and simulations, offering support for customer problem solving, guiding customers through the dissection of intricate insurance requirements and regulations.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Model Development: Design, develop, and implement actuarial models using regression analysis methods based on customer specifications and business requirements.
  • Customer Interaction: Work closely with customers to understand their needs and provide technical expertise in actuarial modeling.
  • Data Management: Manage and analyze large datasets to support model development and financial projections.
  • Software Integration: Customize and integrate actuarial software with existing systems and platforms.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation for actuarial models and software solutions.
  • Quality Assurance: Analysis of regression analysis changes and syncing customer data to regression databases.
  • Technical Competencies:
  • Actuarial Modeling: Strong understanding of actuarial modeling techniques and tools. Ability to design, develop, and refine actuarial models with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced Programming: .Net programming, data structure and flow, and code debugging.
  • Data Analysis: Expertise in statistical analysis and data manipulation.
  • Customer-Facing Skills: Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to customers and stakeholders, and manage customer relationships.
  • Testing: Skilled in testing and validating models to ensure they meet business requirements

Qualifications

Experience/Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (or international equivalent).
  • Typically requires 3+ years of experience in actuarial development, modeling, or software development.
  • Progress towards actuarial certification (ASA) is preferred.
  • Expanded knowledge and expertise in actuarial science or actuarial development.
  • Experience with actuarial software tools and platforms. Visual studio, JavaScript, html, xml a plus.
  • Understanding of actuarial concepts, proficiency in programming, and the ability to translate actuarial requirements into technical solutions.
